Released in arcades in October of 1988, Ninja Gaiden is a classic beat 'em side-scroller which was most widely know for it's incredibly morbid continue screen.
Like most arcade classics of the 80s, Ninja Gaiden was eventually ported to the NES in 1989. Of course the port was almost nothing like the arcade game, but it was successful nonetheless. Although the game is incredibly fun, it is also insanely difficult, ranking up there with Castlevania, and Ghosts 'n Goblins.
