When Charles Darwin dropped On the Origin of Species on the world, he did not seem to think it would be as controversial as it has become when it comes to religion. In fact upon predicting the impact his work would have in the realm of religion he had this to say:
I see no good reason why the views given in [On the Origin of Species] should shock the religious feelings of any one.
